Matchtech proudly announce sponsorship of the 2012 CUER team
Matchtech is proud to announce sponsorship of the Cambridge University Eco Racing Team (CUER) and our support of their pursuit of the World Solar Challenge title.
The World Solar challenge is a Biennial Race across Australia, from Darwin to Adelaide spanning 3000km of the Australian outback. It attracts teams from around the world, mostly from universities, with 37 teams from 20 countries participating in the 2011 race.
Matchtech Engineering Services, our experienced in-house engineering team, are providing some of their technical expertise to both nurture and support the talented CUER team. MES will be supplying the team with the honeycomb core material for the cars monocoque chassis, in addition to taking on the task of the structural optimisation of the drive wheel.
Engineering Director at Matchtech, Mark Edwards, commented on our involvement with the project, “We are extremely proud to be associated with such a cutting edge, sustainable project and to have the opportunity to nurture the future stars of the engineering world.”
