Matchtech supports the University of Portsmouth
For close to 12 years Matchtech Group has been working in collaboration with the University of Portsmouth promoting employability and Graduate opportunities across several faculties. Several years ago we also became involved with the Portsmouth Centre for Enterprise.
This competition, started in 2000, offers self-starting students across the University an opportunity to demonstrate their entrepreneurial talents, formulating and developing business ideas and presenting them in a dragon’s den scenario, with the potential of winning prize money to kick start their business.
The Centre has been responsible for providing a platform for several self-starters who have been extremely successful in launching their careers; Alumni from the Centre include Rachel Lowe, who launched her ‘Destination’ board game six years ago and has since released 19 versions of the game, including her most recent ‘Destination Hogwarts’.
Maintaining these sorts of relationships with Universities has always been incredibly important to Matchtech Group, as both an active recruiter of Graduates and a local employer of Portsmouth University alumni.
“We are passionate about supporting local talent and the Centre for Enterprise is a great scheme that has helped to elevate the careers of some great entrepreneurs. Many of our staff are from Portsmouth University and we will continue to support this great scheme in the future.” Adrian Gunn, CEO, Matchtech Group
