Job description
BAE Systems is seeking highly skilled Mechanical Engineers to join their team on a contract basis. This role is critical in supporting the Defence & Security sector, specifically within the Defence discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing mechanical engineering projects within the submarines business unit.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance on complex engineering problems.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports and documentation.
- Maintaining and enhancing client relationships through excellent communication.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in mechanical engineering
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and relevant software.
- Proficiency in project management and leadership skills.
- Understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid role, with requirements to be on site 2 days a fortnight. The contract duration is 6 months initially, and the role falls inside IR35 regulations.
