Job description
Our client, a prominent player in the water sector, is searching for a Regional Pump Engineer to join their team based in Bury St Edmunds. This permanent role involves servicing and maintaining pumps, hoses, and generators to a high standard within a designated region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reducing backlogs of non-RFH equipment at depots, either on-site or at the "home depot"
- Undertaking major repairs and refurbishments
- Ensuring all servicing is up to date on-site and at depot
- Diagnosing faults and repairing/maintaining various pumps, hoses, and generators in the fleet
- Checking, tagging, and updating service records for all equipment
- Maintaining a current knowledge of products and accessories
- Adhering to best safe working practices at all times
- Reporting all incidents/accidents and abiding by site Health & Safety rules
Job Requirements:
- Experience in pumps, hoses, and generators is essential
- Relevant pump qualification or time-served pump engineer
- Preferable CITB/NVQ qualification
- Valid driving licence
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Flexible attitude to adapt to the region's changing needs
- Effective communication and record-keeping skills
