Location Kettering, England
Salary £50 000 - 70 000 Per Annum
Work Opportunity Permanent
Introduction
Looking for your next challenge in data centres? We're hiring a Mechanical Project Manager in Kettering to lead the mechanical side of fast-paced, high-tech projects. You'll keep things running smoothly on time and on budget. In return, you'll get a great salary, plenty of support to grow your skills, and access to health and wellbeing perks. You'll need full UK right to work, as we can't offer sponsorship for this one.
What will I be doing?
- Own the mechanical side from the start - join project kick-off meetings, get up to speed with specs, and take charge of technical submittals right through to approval.
- Keep things moving on site - manage labour trackers, monitor progress weekly, and make sure the right materials, equipment, and plant arrive on time.
- Stay connected - work closely with main contractors, the client's site team, and attend all key meetings, including subcontractor and site updates.
- Drive delivery and quality - oversee coordination, implement construction and commissioning plans, and ensure smooth handovers with solid documentation.
- Add value as you go - report innovative ideas or improvements to the Contracts Manager and help deliver smarter, more efficient outcomes.
What do I need to succeed?
- You've got solid experience as a Mechanical Project Manager (or something similar) and know how to run the show.
- You've delivered big projects before and have the results to prove it.
- A qualification in Construction or Project Management would be a bonus.
- You're confident leading teams and keeping everyone on track.
- You know your stuff when it comes to building services and mechanical systems.

Frequently asked questions
Why should you trust a specialist technical recruitment agency to find you your next role?
Using a specialist recruitment agency like Matchtech to find your next role is a smart move for a number of reasons. One of the main advantages is that it's a good way to cast your job searching net out wide. Recruiters often have a number of similar positions on the go with different clients, so if you're unsuccessful with one position, you can be put forward for many other vacancies at the same time, increasing the likelihood of you landing your dream job faster and with a lot less effort.
Does Matchtech take a cut of my pay if I use them to find my next job?
Absolutely not! We charge the end client for our services, not the candidate. So you can rest assured that there is no difference to your pay when being placed into a new role by Matchtech.
If I use a recruiter at Matchtech to find my next role, am I going to be bombarded with irrelevant job opportunities?
No not at all, when you register with us or apply for a role on our website, we will add you to our database. But this does not mean you will be bombarded with irrelevant jobs. We will seek to have an initial call to explore all of your options and your job preferences before sending you any further roles. You can even set up your own specific job alerts on our website if you wish to have jobs sent straight to your inbox, you choose the frequency of these alerts so can control how much you hear from us. And of course, you can unsubscribe from further communications at any time.
