Job description
Our client, a pioneering company in the cross-sector technology industry, is seeking a talented Radar Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this permanent role, you will play a crucial part in developing innovative radar systems, regularly updating existing designs, and driving new product advancements. With a focus on maximising the performance and characteristics of radar technologies, this position requires a knowledgeable and mathematically adept individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Senior Engineering team to develop new radar products
- Specifying hardware architecture, RF performance characteristics, waveform design, and DSP algorithms
- Owning and extending existing radar models to incorporate new features and capabilities
- Conducting radar trials analysis and preparing antenna calibration data
- Prototyping and validating algorithms before implementation
- Analysing trials data to verify and characterise the performance of existing and prototype radars
- Participating in field trials in the UK and occasionally overseas
- Contributing to technical leadership and team communications
Job Requirements:
- Mathematics, engineering, or physics degree
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Experience in radar system design or satellite communication system design
- Understanding of the radar equation and its influence on radar architecture, waveform design, and signal processing methods
- Knowledge of multi-function radar design and/or phased-array antenna design
- Understanding of real-world radio effects such as multipath, weather, and clutter
- Proficiency in Matlab, M
