Job description
Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is currently seeking a Senior Digitalisation Engineer to join their team. This role can be based either in Aberdeen or Warrington, providing flexibility for the right individual. The company supports various sectors including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage markets. This position is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about digital innovation in the automation, energy, and manufacturing industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and support the strategic development of individual sites and functions through digital innovations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive digitalisation strategy
- Manage the delivery of digital projects across business units, ensuring timely and successful execution
- Develop and own digital value propositions to enhance operational efficiency
- Support the development and implementation of a business-wide digitalisation strategy
- Identify opportunities for digital innovation and recommend relevant technologies
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate digital value propositions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful project implementation
- Implement standardisation of digital solutions across the business
- Act as a local point of contact for digitalisation support, consulting with the global digital community
- Present and demonstrate digital solutions to stakeholders and customers
- Provide training and support on new digital tools and technologies
- Organise and execute digital training sessions, promoting a digital-first mindset
Job Requirements:
- Experience in engineering, operational positions, or industrial automation and control with a strong grasp of digital technologies
- Proven experience in the development and execution of Digital Transformation Strategies
- Understanding of Change Management processes and their importance for organisational change
- Passion for digital solutions and a clear understanding of their business benefits
- Flexible and adaptable approach to digital solutions and evolving landscapes
- Intercultural competency and effective collaboration in a diverse environment
- Willingness to undertake business trips as needed for project requirements
- Excellent leadership and presentation skills, with effective communication at all organisational levels
Desired Experience:
- Experience in engineering, operations, and digital technologies
- Experience in a similar role within the industrial sector
- Understanding and experience of lean management principles
- Experience with mobile applications (Low Code Platforms), MS SQL Database, and dashboard reporting technology (e.g. PowerBI)
- Technical support and troubleshooting for operational technology applications
- Degree or HND/HNC in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certification in Project Management (Prince2, APM)
