Celebrating opportunity in the maritime industry - Seawork International 2016
Around the world, the maritime industry is thriving. Advances in technology and shifts in behavioural and economic trends offer the commercial, leisure, naval and offshore renewable markets great growth opportunities. As companies begin to capitalise on these opportunities, there is a strong demand for maritime professionals around the world.
Within the UK, more than 5,000 companies make up the maritime industry, employing nearly 90,000 people. The South Coast of England and the central belt of Scotland are particular hotspots for maritime recruitment with employers seeking Electrical Design Engineers, Production Managers and Naval Architects. Skilled maritime professionals with 3D design experience, technical experience and qualifications in PRINCE2 and LEAN Manufacturing are especially sought after.
There are also many opportunities in the international naval market, which is also expanding. In Canada, employers are seeking Production Supervisors, Managers and Planners and in the superyacht and cruise sectors, there are positions across Europe in Germany, Holland, Italy and France.
With the return of Seawork International next week, we are again looking forward to being a part of Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition and having the opportunity to meet a range of industry professionals and hear their views on the current market. The three day event attracts around 7,500 maritime professionals, providing the chance to see the latest products and services on the market and network with fellow industry professionals.
Seven of our specialist maritime consultants will be exhibiting at the event, giving employers and job seekers the chance to discuss recruitment strategies and job opportunities at the stand or in private. You can also drop by to enter our prize draw for your chance to win a retro sweet hamper and a bottle of champagne!
As regular Seawork International attendees, we know this is going to be an exciting exhibition. If you’re attending, we look forward to seeing you.

Seawork International takes place at the Mayflower Park in Southampton, 14-16th June 2016.
