Job description
Our client, a pivotal player in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Senior V&V Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead Verification and Validation activities across the project lifecycle, guaranteeing compliance with industry standards and ensuring the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) of project deliverables.
Role Purpose:
As the Systems V&V Engineer, you will ensure project success by leading Verification and Validation activities throughout the project lifecycle. Your work will focus on ensuring compliance with project deliverables, verifying RAMS analysis, and demonstrating that project activities meet safety and quality standards.
You will design and execute test specifications, assess methods and tools, and ensure all V&V activities are documented, consistent, and compliant. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead V&V activities to validate compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and execute test plans, ensuring adequacy and correctness of results.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and validate system requirements.
- Document and prove the safety and professionalism of all project and product developments.
- Promote best practices in V&V processes and mentor junior team members.
Key Relationships:
- Safety Team: Integrate safety requirements into plans and deliverables.
- Project Engineers: Validate system requirements and verify assumptions.
- Business Development: Clarify customer V&V needs and expectations.
- Project Management: Provide accurate, timely updates for project planning.
Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience in V&V activities for industry standards and regulations.
- Strong technical knowledge across engineering principles and system lifecycles.
- Skilled in structured problem-solving and critical analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to ethical practices.
- Ability to document and provide auditable evidence of safety and quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster open, collaborative relationships.
- Evidence of conflict management and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
