Technicians urgently required to test NHS ventilators

Matchtech is urgently seeking a number of technicians to help test ventilators and support the ‘Ventilator Challenge’.

With over 3000 ventilators to deliver per month until the end of June, Matchtech has partnered with a long established medical device company based in the UK, to support the testing of emergency ventilators of which the UK Government originally ordered over 15,000 units. These ventilators are crucial to support patients critically ill with COVID-19 and will be used on the NHS frontline up and down the country.

Why are Matchtech only getting involved now?

Matchtech is collaborating with F1 companies who have provided excellent testing support but are now handing over the baton to Matchtech to finish the job as their focus turns to the new F1 season. As specialists in hiring engineers for over 30 years, Matchtech is ideally placed to find the skilled professionals needed to test the ventilators going forward.

What type of skills are needed to test ventilators?

We are seeking testing technicians or applications from candidates that have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment specifically with a background in testing mechanical or electrical products. You would also need to be confident in operating machinery and tools to aid with testing.

When can I start and how long is the project?

We are seeking contractors to start immediately with the contract expected to last until the end of July.

Where are the jobs based?

The jobs will be based at a manufacturing facility at Abingdon Science Park, Oxford.
