Job description
Our client, a leading town planning consultancy, is seeking a proactive Senior Planning Officer to join their dedicated team. This permanent role offers the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements but with a preference for office-based work in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting client meetings to discuss and progress planning applications
- Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
- Writing accurate and detailed reports with a high standard of technical communication
- Providing planning advice and support to clients and stakeholders
- Managing and supervising junior planners, fostering their development and success
- Representing the organisation at public consultations and hearings
- Collaborating with team members on a variety of planning projects
- Ensuring all work aligns with the organisation's commitment to quality and success
Job Requirements:
- Experience in town planning
- Strong technical communication skills
- Proven ability to write accurate, detailed, and clear reports
- Proactive attitude with the capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills for client and local authority interactions

- Solid understanding of planning legislation and policy
