Job description
Our client, a prominent entity in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a Goods In Supervisor on a Permanent basis to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of the Goods In department, critical to our client's demand-driven production model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising the goods-in process, including receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming goods
- Maintaining accurate records of received shipments and managing inventory levels effectively
- Coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues with incoming goods
- Ensuring all inventory and GRN systems are maintained accurately and within agreed parameters
- Overseeing the handling of materials, including heavy lifting, unloading containers, and operating forklifts when necessary
- Implementing and maintaining best practices for warehouse organisation and storage to optimise space utilization
- Collaborating with the Purchasing team to ensure timely delivery of goods to the appropriate departments
- Investigating stock discrepancies and implementing controls to reduce/eliminate reoccurrence
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in using forklifts for materials handling
- Strong team supervisory skills to lead and motivate warehouse staff effectively
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and ensuring smooth operations
- Experience working in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory accurately
- Understanding of logistics processes to facilitate efficient goods-in procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tas
