Job description

In this role you will work closely with department heads to increase revenue, achieve productivity goals and contribute to the organisation's overall success by ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed on time and that all rules and regulations of the organisation are enforced. You will be accountable for the success of an initiative, often coordinating efforts across departments and managing cross-functional teams. You will report progress to business owners or the executive team as well as inspiring team members to see the big picture and push toward project goals.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to;

  • Create and lead the project to deliver agreed outcomes within time, cost and quality constraint.
  • Day to day management and leadership of the project and the project team. Provide effective leadership and management controls. Set project controls. Design the project structure and organisation appropriate to stage. Set appropriate delivery methodologies. Manage effective transition between project phases.
  • Identify, track and report on all aspects of the project budget to ensure the project remains to agreed cost.
  • Identify required project resources and skill sets to delivery assign projects. Manage and deploy resources during the project life cycle to achieve agreed deliverables.
  • Identify and manage stakeholder relationships and need for senior level support. Manage internal and external relationships as appropriate.
  • Identify and monitor project risks and issues. Develop mitigating actions and escalate as appropriate. Identify and work with related projects to manage interdependencies.
  • Monitor and control projects to ensure effective governance is in place and to support decision making. Provide reporting and engage in mechanisms that hold you, as Project Manager, to account for delivery.
  • Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Organize assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching for junior members of the team. Show commitment to personal development. Lead by example and promote effective individual and team performance.
  • Develop and maintain Project Plan. Identify and set appropriate Project Controls. Manage performance and advise on additional resources to implement solutions, report project progress to sponsors.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing others within the PMO team to ensure skills and knowledge is transferred and built upon.
  • Actively provide project management assistance on the quotation of new business.



Successful candidates will hold a PRINCE 2 Practitioner, PMP or equivalent qualification and have proven work related experience in Project Management. You will also have experience with full product lifecycle, with an understanding of the development lifecycle of various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle. In addition, experience of working with business and stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment, along with a proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results whilst managing a small team.

We will be looking for candidates to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to carry out cost planning and control for the estimation of costs, setting up an agreed budget, and managing of actual and forecast costs against agreed budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Technical curiosity and commercial awareness.
  • A positive attitude with a high degree of enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Self-motivation, working equally well either individually or as part of a large technical team.
  • Exceptional planning and prioritization skills, keen drive for rapid delivery.
  • A pragmatic approach to work using multiple delivery models such as waterfall or agile.
  • Keen to learn and develop personal skills.
  • Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Ability to direct project teams to reflect on their past performance and embrace a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build close working relationships with stakeholders of all levels across the business, keeping them up to date on progress and key decisions concerning the delivery of our products.
