Job description

This is an opportunity for a Maintenance Planner to plan maintenance activities for the rotating machinery team at one of Europe's largest and most modern ethylene plants.

The successful candidate must have experience as a Maintenance Planner with a rotating machinery background, e.g. pumps, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulics and steam turbines. You must also have demonstrable experience within the onshore oil & gas, refining, refinery, chemical or industrial manufacturing sectors. You should be able to demonstrate strong field leadership capability.
You will ideally have experience with mentoring less experienced team members to develop their competency.

The Maintenance Planner will be responsible for developing detailed job packs / job plans / work packs that include materials, access requirements, equipment needs and estimated durations. You must be able to optimise work and break it down into logical detailed steps.

The Maintenance Planner is a physically active position, and the job requirements, role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Visiting the site regularly to identify the right scope of work and then create job packs / job plans / work packs ready for field execution.
  • Understanding machinery failure modes and ability to diagnose correct repair scopes.
  • Identifying and building QA/QC requirements into work packs.
  • Planning maintenance activities to the correct safety requirements, work practices and work permit requirements.
  • Reading and interpreting technical information e.g. P&IDs, equipment layout and general arrangement drawings etc.
  • Making purchase requisitions for necessary parts and materials via the procurement team.
  • Updating BOMs for spares holdings.

The successful candidate must have working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance Module or alternative CMMS experience. You should also have strong working knowledge of Microsoft products with a strong application of Excel.

This role is Inside IR35. The rates advertised are PAYE. Candidates are also able to work on an Umbrella basis if preferred. Further details will be provided upon application.
