Job description

Design Delivery Manager

Location: HS2 - Curzon St. Station
Post Reports To: Senior Design Delivery Manager

Job Summary:
The Design Delivery Manager will manage all aspects of the design, including coordination, submission, compliance, programming, and management of design, engineering, and assurance for the assigned design packages. This role will involve liaising with the Consultant Design Manager and certifying that the works for the new Curzon station have been constructed in accordance with the design for the assigned packages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety and collaborate with Principal Designer HS2 Ltd.
• Protection of Design Vision and Employer's Objectives.
• Ensure culture and behaviours meet HS2 Construction Partner Objectives in collaboration with all parties.
• Ensure exemplary quality and sustainability standards.
• Participate in audits and surveillance of project design process.
• Support and encourage the implementation of solutions to reduce the carbon footprint.
• Manage design delivery, including technical assurance, scope, deliverables, and programme.
• Develop the design at package level to achieve a safe, buildable, operational, and maintainable asset.
• Actively create an environment of collaboration and engagement with SDSC, HS2, and third parties.
• Liaise and coordinate with other Design Managers, Responsible Engineers, and Assurance Team members.
• Coordinate engagement with HS2 and third parties and manage ICDs & AIDDs.
• Coordinate the design package reviews and ensure technical documents are reviewed and accepted.
• Oversee Subcontractor design review to confirm intent for the design packages.
• Ensure design issues identified at package level are escalated and resolved efficiently.
• Coordinate assumption and decision registers and risk registers for the design package.
• Ensure compliance with Project Requirements and Works Information.
• Manage package interfaces with other designers.
• Ensure design package interfaces with third parties are addressed.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in Civil design and engineering.
