Marine Shipment Coordinator
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the dynamic world of global marine and crude trading? If you thrive on coordinating complex dispatch and voyage operations, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the dispatch and voyage operations of affiliate-owned and chartered vessels. Your key responsibilities will include managing equipment from various third parties, generating scheduling orders, ensuring proper vetting of marine equipment, and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Management:- Coordinate and manage the operations and scheduling activity of client cargoes and third-party cargoes.
- Handle equipment from various third parties under existing or new contracts (Term Charter, Spot Charter, Contract of Affreightment, Charter Order, Master Transportation Agreement, etc.).
Scheduling and Optimisation:- Generate scheduling orders (Nominations) based on trade signals from Traders and Refining Optimisers.
- Seek opportunities for cost reductions through fleet optimisation (e.g., outcharters, cleaning reductions, repositioning).
- Arrange and optimise the supply and delivery of bunkers for time-chartered vessels.
- Collaborate with sites to support long-range planning and refinery turnarounds, ensuring adequate equipment coverage and accurate signals.
Safety and Compliance:- Ensure all marine equipment (including load and discharge terminals) undergoes proper vetting prior to loading through our internal vetting system.
- Formulate and issue appropriate voyage orders and letters of indemnity as necessary.
Stakeholder Communication:- Provide timely and accurate schedule, vessel, and voyage-related operations information to internal stakeholders, vessel agents, and ship brokers.
- Ensure vessel utilisation and safety objectives are achieved by anticipating arrival and departure timing, managing in-port operations, and coordinating lifting schedules.
- Billing Dispute Resolution:
- Act as the first point of contact for billing disputes and resolutions with billing clerks/analysts.
- Demurrage Claims Management:
- Work closely with the Demurrage Claims organisation to minimise losses and maximise value.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline (e.g., Engineering, Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics) or relevant work experience underpinned by strong P&L performance.
- Marine Commercial Experience:
- Previous experience in marine commercial operations, with a focus on:
- Evaluating, optimising, and managing freight operations.
- Understanding risk management.
- Previous experience in marine commercial operations, with a focus on:
