Job description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Commercial Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the Greater Cambridge Partnership as it advances its Transport Programme towards the construction phase of Major Projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing expert advice on commercial activities, procurement for major works, and ongoing contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contract Management: Providing expert advice and support throughout the lifecycle of major contracts, including procurement processes and NEC contract management. Ensuring adherence to procurement rules and achieving value for money.
* Commercial Vision and Objectives: Collaborating with stakeholders to create transparent and collaborative contract negotiations. Supporting organizational leadership in aligning commercial strategies with corporate priorities.
* Business Analysis: Evaluating the programme to ensure value for money and a commercial approach to change. Introducing contract management systems for effective contract oversight.
* Delivery Models: Offering expertise in NEC contract and commercial management. Supporting the development of new delivery models to enhance outcomes and reduce risk.
* Acumen Development and Team Leadership: Mentoring and developing contract management skills across the team. Providing leadership to ensure the team's activities align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of commercial practices, tools, and techniques
* Demonstrable experience in leadership and management
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Sound knowledge of financial management and procurement cycles
