Job description

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Bridge Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and managing bridge projects in the rail sector. This is a contract position, offering an exciting opportunity to work on both UK and international bridge design projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct bridge design projects, both in the UK and overseas.
• Manage bridge projects, including bridge strengthening, repair, inspections, and assessments.
• Provide civil and structural engineering support to other teams.
• Conduct feasibility studies and options appraisals for bridge projects.
• Prepare documents, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs and drawings.
• Prepare scheme feasibility studies and outline cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the team and CAD technicians.

Job Requirements:

• Significant experience in bridge design, management, and strengthening.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.
• Experience in conducting feasibility studies and options appraisals.
• Proficiency in preparing design documents, reports, and risk assessments.
• Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
