Job description

Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - Water Treatment Industry

Location: South Coast (Hybrid Working)

Contract Type: Outside IR35, Contract Position

Position Overview: As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of electrical systems for water treatment facilities. Working in a collaborative environment, you will utilize your technical expertise to design, implement, and optimize electrical solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards. This is a contract position offering the opportunity for hybrid working, with two days in the office every fortnight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for water treatment plants, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and automation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical designs with overall project requirements.
  • Perform detailed electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Create and review technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and schematics.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and evaluations of new technologies to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support project managers in coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical design, preferably in the water treatment or related industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and electrical design tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
