Job description
This permanent role will involve working within the Electrical Equipment Team, which is responsible for the specification and tendering of electrical equipment for the Royal Navy's next generation submarines. The role entails managing the technical side of contracts through staged design reviews to design completion, collaborating with external suppliers to ensure high standards of engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing technical specifications and supporting in the down selection and placing of contracts
- Liaising and collaborating with external suppliers and the customer
- Following design lifecycle management to ensure the delivery of equipment to specification
- Providing technical consultation to multi-discipline teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on matters related to the power system
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations effectively
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Experience with high power, medium voltage power electronics, machines, and drives
- Knowledge of power systems, including conversion, distribution, and generation
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
