Job Title: Aircraft Fitter

Job Type: Permanent
Location: RAF Brize Norton based, with occasional travel required.
Working Hours: 5 on, 5 off, 4 on (Day shifts) - 07:00 to 19:00
Salary: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Our client, a trusted leader in aerospace and defence, is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Fitter to join their team at Brize Norton.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Aircraft Fitter, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, compliant and effective maintenance, repairs and modifications to the aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain & Repair Aircraft

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the aircraft and safe use of ground equipment.
  • Carry out aircraft modifications and light structural work when required.

Work to Technical Standards

  • Accurately navigate and interpret aircraft maintenance documentation.
  • Complete all aircraft paperwork to a high standard.

Operate Safely & Compliantly

  • Comply with organisational policies, MOE procedures and supporting manuals.
  • Follow company Safety Management System (SMS) reporting procedures.
  • Adhere to AAG DS safety policy and all Health & Safety requirements (COSHH, working at height, manual handling).

Create a Safe Working Environment

  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace using a "clean as you go" approach.
  • Identify and rectify existing or potential unsafe conditions.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Actively embrace and contribute to a strong Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.

What You'll Need to Bring

Essential Requirements

  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK (sponsorship cannot be offered).
  • Valid aircraft standards-based qualification (Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3) or relevant academic qualification/traineeship with minimum 3 years' experience (or ability to satisfy Training/Maintenance management team).
  • Current Human Factors (initial & refresher), EWIS and SFAR 88 certification.
  • Knowledge of aeronautical regulations.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
  • Ability to successfully complete MOD security clearance.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience on A400M, Airbus, propeller or wide-body aircraft.
  • Exposure to AirN@v and AMOS systems.
  • Awareness of Military Aviation Authority (MAA) MRP Part 145 regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and strong organisational skills.
  • IPAF/MEWP familiarisation.
