Key Responsibilities:
- Defining conceptual designs for substations and overseeing the development of detailed designs.
- Developing control and trip logic diagrams, relay protection settings, and configuration files.
- Conducting or directing electrical power system studies including load flows, loss analysis, and harmonics analysis.
- Supervising and verifying the work of engineers, technologists, and designers under your supervision.
- Performing engineering calculations to determine system criteria and equipment design parameters.
- Preparing technical specifications for electrical equipment and protection relay panels.
- Coordinating with clients to ensure requirements are met and leading project design review meetings.
- Mentoring and training less experienced engineers, technologists, and designers.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, specialising in Electrical Power Systems, or MSc.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Proven experience with electrical codes and standards, protection relays, RTUs, modems, and integration.
- Familiarity with power system analysis techniques, including symmetrical components.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in business development is considered an asset.
