Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will:
- Undertake feasibility and design work on various highways and civil engineering schemes within the current legislative framework
- Analyse engineering problems, apply technical expertise and engineering judgement to produce solutions that meet legal and management objectives
- Identify, prepare, design, plan, programme, and order works and services
- Assist in managing and monitoring works programmes or services to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery
- Liaise directly with Elected Members, Parish Councils, public, and stakeholders as required
- Manage projects from feasibility to on-site delivery, including the Traffic Regulation process
Job Requirements:
- Experience in highway design and traffic engineering
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D
- Ability to use MS packages - Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Understanding of Highway and Traffic Legislation, relevant design procedures, and standards
- Educated to HNC/HND or Degree level in Civil Engineering (desirable)
- Membership of a relevant professional institution at Eng Tech level or actively working towards IEng level (desirable)
