Our client is looking for a skilled Traffic Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves delivering and managing Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs), traffic calming schemes, and various highway infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering TROs from inception to implementation with a strong understanding of relevant legislation
- Managing and delivering traffic calming schemes, speed limit changes, and minor highway infrastructure changes
- Developing Traffic Engineering solutions for parking issues, traffic capacity improvements, and active travel route signing
- Ensuring compliance with relevant design guides, codes, and standards
- Liaising with Area Teams, elected members, internal staff, and external colleagues including emergency services
- Providing specialist advice on traffic-related queries
- Managing projects independently with minimal supervision
- Presenting technical information effectively through written and verbal communication
Job Requirements:
- Experience in traffic and highway engineering
- Proven ability to deliver TROs, traffic calming schemes, and highway infrastructure projects
- Good understanding of design guides, codes, and standards related to traffic engineering
- Strong project management skills
- High-level interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
