Our client, BAE Systems, a key player in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Contract PCB Designer to join their team. This role, primarily based in Cowes with potential work at Broadoak, offers a hybrid arrangement requiring three days on-site per week. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to crucial defence projects within a highly respected company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for various defence applications
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet technical and security requirements
- Utilising CAD software, with a preference for Cadence Allegro, to create and modify PCB layouts
- Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Working closely with manufacturing teams to support the production of PCB designs
- Maintaining thorough documentation and providing progress updates to stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in PCB design, preferably using Cadence Allegro
- Understanding of defence sector standards and security requirements
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Security clearance: BPSS + SC in Flight, subject to ITAR and UK eyes only
- Flexibility to work on-site three days a week from Cowes or Portsmouth
