Our client BAE Systems, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for a Lead Project Professional to join their Submarine Solutions business unit in Barrow on a 12-month contract basis. This opportunity involves working in a hybrid arrangement, with 2-3 days on-site each week, contributing to the programme integration team. The role requires a professional with a strong understanding of project management principles and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing project delivery and ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Integrating various programme elements within the submarine solutions team
- Utilising standard MS toolsets for project monitoring and control
- Managing and reporting project costs and employing Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques
- Facilitating effective communication and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Mentoring and providing guidance to an apprentice within the team
- Ensuring compliance with security protocols and ITAR regulations
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
Job Requirements:
- Experience in project management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for project planning and monitoring
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost awareness
- Strong numerical skills, with an ability to manage project costs effectively
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environmen
