Job Title: Contractor Compliance Health & Safety & CDM Officer
Department: Facilities Management


About the Role

We're seeking a dedicated Health & Safety professional to support the Facilities Management team in managing contractor compliance and CDM responsibilities. You'll play a vital role in ensuring all project work is delivered safely and to best practice standards across our fast-paced environment.

You'll engage actively with Facilities and wider business teams, nurturing strong relationships with contractors and promoting a culture of safety and compliance.


Location: Typically 3-4 days on-site with 1-2 days working from home for flexibility and balance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct focused Health & Safety inspections on construction and facilities projects across multiple sites.

  • Ensure timely closure of all actions raised during inspections and audits.

  • Collate data and produce clear reports outlining findings, trends, and recommendations.

  • Apply audit process skills to evaluate contractor performance and FM compliance.

  • Problem-solve proactively and propose practical safety solutions.

  • Communicate and influence effectively at all levels-internal teams and external contractors.

  • Advise and guide on compliance to ensure safe working practices throughout the business.

  • Conduct investigations when required, producing evidence‑based reporting and developing statistical insights.

  • Champion best safety practices in all FM works and projects.

  • Plan and manage your schedule to maintain regular site engagement across all UK facilities.

  • Proactively manage your own workload and priorities.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate (Construction or General) - Essential

  • Valid CSCS card

  • Demonstrated experience working safely in construction or facilities environments

  • Proven ability to carry out inspections, raise and close out actions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders

  • Competent in data collation, reporting, and statistical analysis

  • Sound investigation methodology experience

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6 preferred)

  • Qualified auditor (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
