Our client in the highway transportation sector is currently seeking a Surfacing Supervisor for a contract role. This position entails overseeing and managing road surfacing projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
    Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    Developing work schedules, allocating resources, and coordinating the various stages of the surfacing process.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    Supervising and motivating a team of surfacing operatives, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards.
  • Quality Control:
    Monitoring the quality of work to ensure it meets the specified standards and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Material and Equipment Management:
    Ensuring the availability and proper use of materials and equipment needed for surfacing projects.
  • Client Communication:
    Liaising with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any issues or concerns.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Keeping accurate records of work completed, resources used, and any incidents or issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in highway surfacing and construction
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a team
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Relevant industry qualifications or certifications
