Seeking a versatile and skilled Assistant Construction Manager to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role involves supporting the Construction Project Manager and other key leaders with the management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and other essential duties. The position spans diverse projects across numerous industries such as aviation, commercial building, electrical transmission & distribution, facility, manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation, process, and water.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the company's safety programmes, training, and policies, and manage the Safety & Health performance of the project team
- Collaborate with the Project Management team to build and maintain client relationships
- Assist in both internal and external project risk reviews with the Project Management team
- Coordinate and assist the development and implementation of various project management plans
- Negotiate, approve, and execute prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
- Prepare RFPs, support detailed scope of work development, and oversee the bid and selection process
- Support project specifications, drawing releases, and design changes implementation
- Assist with project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, and field progress tracking processes
- Prepare and report project status, risks, schedules, costs, and cash flows at meetings
- Ensure compliance with company policies and standards throughout all project activities
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant construction experience, or applicable experience substituting for the degree requirement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organisational skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the capability to meet the company's driving requirements
