Our client, a leader in the nuclear sector, is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join a contract at a facility near Reading. The role involves providing client-side support to utility infrastructure upgrade projects, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion safety culture and ensure adherence to safe systems of work.
- Coordinate with and manage all supply chain contractors.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, designers, engineers, and commercial teams, to ensure project progression and adherence to the programme.
- Draft pre-construction information and scopes for subcontractors.
- Provide input and support to the construction sequencing of projects, coordinating activities on-site with all suppliers.
- Manage project interfaces with other client operations.
- Interface with wider construction delivery teams.
- Ensure delivery of a safe, right first-time outcome.
Job Requirements:
- Significant experience delivering civil engineering projects in a regulated environment.
- Experience in utility projects, with water project experience being particularly beneficial.
- Excellent awareness of CDM, construction practices, and health and safety legislation.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Ability to promote excellence and continuous improvement, driving innovation and adopting best practices.
- Black CSCS card, preferably in civil engineering.
- Preferred CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent.
- Security Clearance at DV level is preferred, although SC with the willingness to upgrade to DV is acceptable.
- Beneficial but not mandatory: Lifting AP, TWC.
