Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and signing off Approval in Principle (AIP) documents and other technical aspects of bridge engineering projects
- Overseeing and conducting bridge assessments and their reviews
- Providing technical design input and validating the integrity of bridge structures
- Signing off on highways-related documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Writing technical reports and appropriate documentation
- Discussing and potentially expanding or reducing the scope of the technical role as needed
- Assisting in the transition of responsibilities within the team
Job Requirements:
- Chartered Engineer
- Strong background in bridge engineering and structural analysis
- Expertise in reviewing and signing off AIP documents
- Experience with bridge assessments and structural reviews
- Proficiency in technical design within the highways industry
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Flexibility to work 2-3 days per week
- Ideally, be reasonably local to Leicester
