Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Planner with significant experience in rail projects to join their team on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will see you work on a major rail infrastructure programme being delivered from Leeds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines
  • Conducting periodic programme reviews and schedule maintenance
  • Integrating risk management strategies into project plans
  • Generating and presenting project reports to stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the project adheres to all contractual requirements and goals
  • Using software planning tools to create and manage project schedules
  • Supporting the integration of multiple contractor submissions into the overall schedule

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in major rail projects
  • Knowledge of NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
  • Proficiency in using basic and advanced IT systems
  • Understanding of project/programme planning and scheduling tools, including P6
  • Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
  • Ability to assess planning requirements and make pragmatic decisions
  • Strong team leadership and motivational skills
  • Experience in working with engineering, construction, and access disciplines
  • Graduate level with strategic thinking capabilities
  • Desirable Skills:

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in Visio for visualising schedules
  • Knowledge in the use of Power BI
