Our client BAE Systems, a prominent organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Professional to join their team on a contract basis. This role is within the Land Business Unit and is based in Glascoed with hybrid working arrangements. This contract is projected to last for 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the procurement of goods and services within the Defence & Security sector
- Ensuring compliance with supply chain processes and standards
- Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Conducting cost analysis and negotiations to secure favourable terms
- Coordinating with internal teams to understand and fulfil procurement needs
- Monitoring and reporting on procurement processes and supplier performance
- Identifying and mitigating risks within the supply chain
- Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies
Job Requirements:
- Experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management, particularly within Defence & Security
- Understanding of supply chain principles and best practices
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyse cost structures and supplier data
- Proficiency in managing supplier relationships
- Acquaintance with procurement processes within a large organisation
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
