We are seeking a Senior / Principal Civil Engineer with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status to join our multidisciplinary team. You'll contribute to a wide range of projects, from large-scale masterplans to parks, public realm, education, commercial, leisure, and residential developments.
You'll bring 5-8 years' post-graduation design experience, a strong technical background, and the creativity to solve complex engineering challenges.
The Job
Lead the design of infrastructure systems, including water, flood mitigation, drainage, highways, and utilities
Carry out site analysis (hydrology, utilities, ground conditions, environmental constraints)
Use digital design tools such as Civil 3D and parametric modelling software
Develop briefs, strategies, and feasibility studies for client projects
Produce accurate, high-quality technical drawings and reports
Collaborate with and negotiate solutions alongside regulators and stakeholders (Environment Agency, LLFAs, water companies, etc.)
Ensure designs align with UK infrastructure standards and adapt to international practices as required
Technical Experience
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
Familiarity with drainage software (InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, or Causeway Flow - desirable but not essential)
Strong IT skills and ability to interpret technical maps, plans, and data
Knowledge of sustainable design practices and BIM applications
Desirable Skills (Not Essential):
3D parametric modelling (Rhino/Grasshopper)
Energy and environmental analysis software (IES VE, EnergyPlus, Ladybug/Honeybee, etc.)
Environmental building design
About You
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (BSc/BEng or equivalent)
Chartered Engineer (CEng) and member of ICE, CIWEM, or a similar professional body
A strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams
Detail-focused, well organised, and able to balance independent work with team collaboration
Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about creating sustainable, future-ready infrastructure
Positive outlook with a sense of humour and pride in your work
