Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the design of infrastructure works for land development projects, including highways, drainage, utilities, and earthworks.

  • Develop detailed design drawings, models, and reports using Autodesk Civil 3D.

  • Undertake and review surface water and foul water drainage design using software such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, or Causeway Flow.

  • Produce Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to support planning applications.

  • Ensure all design work is compliant with current standards, regulations, and best practice guidance.

  • Manage project deliverables, budgets, and timescales while maintaining high quality standards.

  • Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians in technical development.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Chartered or working towards Chartered status desirable).

  • Proven experience working on land development projects within the civil infrastructure sector.

  • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (essential).

  • Practical experience with drainage design software such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, or Causeway Flow.

  • Sound understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and planning procedures.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of attention to detail.
