Electro-Mechanical Engineer
Location: Wimborne, Dorset Fully onsite

What You'll Do

As an Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you'll work across design, development, and production support to create complex aerospace systems that meet the highest industry standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electro-mechanical assemblies such as enclosures, looms/wiring harnesses, and PCB assemblies using 3D CAD modeling.

  • Ensuring compliance with aerospace standards (EWIS, EMC, IPC) and manufacturability/testability principles.

  • Generating and managing engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy with configuration control tools (e.g., PTC Windchill).

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and leading engineering change requests.

  • Applying advanced problem-solving tools, including Design for Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

  • Balancing new product design with production support-analyzing, refining, and improving both legacy and next-generation systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical and electromechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

  • Act as a technical consultant to improve manufacturing processes.

  • Mentor junior engineers, guiding them through design principles and best practices.

  • Manage complex engineering projects with Lean methodologies.

  • Apply Design for Six Sigma to streamline aerospace design challenges.

  • Drive innovation, contributing to intellectual property and technical publications.

Essential:

  • 3D Modeling & Technical Drawings - PTC CREO expertise.

  • Configuration Management - Proficiency in PTC Windchill.

  • Safety-Focused Design - Strong awareness of safety integration.

  • Task & Workflow Management - Ability to manage outsourced work packages.

  • Clear Technical Communication - Skilled in analyzing and justifying engineering changes.

Desirable:

  • Loom Design & Electrical Harnessing - Experience with TE Connectivity Harnware (Visio).

  • Drawing Verification - Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu.

  • PCB Knowledge - Understanding of CADSTAR for PCB data analysis.

  • Advanced Quality Planning - Experience with APQP.

  • Failure Mode Analysis - DFMEA proficiency.
