Key Responsibilities:

  • Own, maintain, and develop Safety Cases for in-service assets and equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.
  • Monitor, interpret, and apply relevant legislation, standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with certifying and regulatory authorities for compliance-related matters.
  • Identify and assess engineering compliance risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Support design, modification, and operational activities by integrating compliance requirements.
  • Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, resolving findings promptly.
  • Develop and improve compliance processes, guidance documents, and training materials.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related technical issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Job Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer (Engineering Council) or equivalent qualification, or an engineering degree with progression towards Chartered status.
  • Experience in marine design and safety assurance.
  • Proven experience in Safety Case development and regulatory or classification society compliance.
  • Leadership and staff management experience.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable with a collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
