Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a skilled FC/ASW Mission Planning & Control Lead Architect to join their team in Stevenage. This is a critical role within a dedicated and driven systems engineering team, focusing on delivering Mission Planning & Control products for FC/ASW TP15 - a highly complex and significant weapon system that provides both future cruise and anti-ship capabilities across the UK and multiple international partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate all architectural artefacts within the boundary of TP15 Mission Planning & Control
  • Guide other architects within the team to maximise modularity and re-use across multiple product offerings
  • Support and influence the design process through effective collaboration
  • Collaborate across various teams to achieve overarching project objectives
  • Ensure all activities are delivered on time, on cost, and on quality

Job Requirements:

  • Strong background in complex systems architecture, including practical experience with MBSE
  • Understanding or experience of key architectural principles in a product line environment
  • Proficiency with Rhapsody (essential) & SysML
  • Experience with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (formerly Rational Team Concert)
  • Familiarity with DOORS Next Generation is ideal
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
  • Leadership and influencing capabilities to coordinate activities across multi-skilled teams
  • Ability to learn rapidly and tackle complex problems independently
