Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer - HVAC to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves contributing to a major maritime project, with the opportunity for hybrid working based in Scotstoun.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing mechanical systems with a focus on HVAC for maritime vessels
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of HVAC designs
- Conducting detailed engineering analysis and calculations to support design decisions
- Preparing technical documentation and reports to support project requirements
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers
- Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Attending project meetings and presenting mechanical design updates
Job Requirements:
- Experience as a Mechanical Designer or Engineer within the Defence & Security sector
- Specialised knowledge of HVAC systems and their application in maritime environments
- Proficiency in using relevant design and analysis software
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification
