Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a dedicated Configuration PLM Specialist to join their Engineering Business Unit. This permanent role is crucial for managing configured items and change workflows for both legacy and development products. The position involves supporting the Chief Engineer with customer deliverable documentation and collaborating with Mechanical Engineering to ensure seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply aerospace configuration standards to company configured items
  • Manage the problem report and change notification process via dedicated PLM toolset (Solidworks Manage)
  • Continuously improve the change management process
  • Run the Change Control Board with Aerospace configuration best practice
  • Generate and manage customer approvals and notifications of change
  • Ensure quality of design documentation, providing guidance to design engineers and preparing for quality audits
  • Govern and control the company-wide PDM/PLM systems, including maintenance and development
  • Support document and drawing reviews and approvals

Job Requirements:

  • Engineering background preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Working knowledge of aerospace configuration standards
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings/documents
  • Deep understanding of industry best practice of change management
  • Experience of adoption of PDM, PLM and CM tools
  • Experience of data control in both design and manufacturing environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across functions and business units

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in an aerospace/defence environment within an Engineering function
  • Experience with aerospace product design environment as a configuration specialist
  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD tools and drawing standards
  • Experience with PDM/PLM & CM Tools (Preferably Solidworks Manage)
