This is a contract position, working Monday to Thursday night shifts, and offers the opportunity to support small batch CNC turning work for high-quality transmission components in motorsport and aerospace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting technical drawings and planning route cards to produce high-quality components within routed timeframes
- Operating various CNC lathes, including Victor Turn II 26 HD, Leadwell LTC 25iL with Siemens 828D, and Doosan Puma GT3100
- Using offline programming tools to support CNC turning tasks
- Adjusting CNC programmes, including speeds and feeds, as necessary
- Maintaining a working knowledge of turning tips and their correct applications
- Collaborating within a small, focused team to solve problems and drive continuous improvement
- Supporting other areas of manufacturing when required
- Working additional hours to help meet delivery deadlines
Job Requirements:
- Experience working on CNC lathes with familiarity with Fanuc controls being essential; knowledge of Siemens controls is advantageous
- Ability to read, understand, and edit CNC programmes
- Proven ability to produce components to the highest quality
- Proactive and innovative approach to problem solving
- Experience operating small manual lathes and/or Harrison Alpha 400 Plus NC lathe is advantageous
