We are seeking experienced Machinists to join our client's high performing manufacturing team across all shifts - Days, Lates and Nights (you will work your assigned shift permanently). The role will focus on setting and operating Mazak CNC Machining centres.

  • Mazak Integrex E-1600V/10

  • Mazak Integrex I-500 V/5

You will work on high-precision components across a range of materials including Inconel, Aluminium Bronze, Cast Iron, Duplex, and Stainless Steel. The ideal candidate will be confident in tooling setup, minor program edits (Mazatrol & ISO G-Code), and working independently to detailed instructions while also contributing to process improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate Mazak 5-axis mill/turn machines.

  • Perform minor program edits in Mazatrol and ISO G-Code.

  • Set up tooling efficiently and accurately.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.

  • Verify components using a variety of measuring equipment.

  • Safely operate cranes, slings, and lifting equipment (training provided).

  • Drive process improvements and support Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace (5S principles).

  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and production targets.

  • Support cross-training and help train others when required.

  • Adhere to Health & Safety procedures at all times.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 5 years' CNC machining experience (milling and turning preferred).

  • Experience setting and operating Mazak CNC machines.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and CNC programs (G-Code & Mazatrol).

  • Strong understanding of turning and milling techniques.

  • Proven problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Flexible, proactive approach with a strong work ethic.

  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office).


Desirable

  • Apprentice-trained in an engineering discipline.

  • Offline programming experience (Edgecam, Mastercam, or Mazatrol).

  • Experience working in a Continuous Improvement/Lean environment.

  • Awareness of Safety and 5S principles.


Additional Information

Contract length - 6-12 months

Candidates must be eligible for baseline security clearance.

Accommodation is provided for non-local contractors, or travel expenses will be covered for those living more than 50 miles away.

Day Shift - £34.50/h Umbrella or £25.76/h PAYE plus £3.11/h holiday pay
Monday 06:00-15:00
Tuesday-Thursday 07:00-15:00
Friday 07:00-13:00

Late Shift - £37.95/h Umbrella or £28.34/h PAYE plus £3.42/h holiday pay
Monday-Thursday 14:30-22:00
Friday 12:30-20:00

Night Shift - £41.40/h Umbrella or £30.91/h PAYE plus £3.73/h holiday pay
Monday-Thursday 21:45-07:30

Holiday pay can be accrued or advanced if PAYE.
