Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Systems Engineer (Design) to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires a specialist in Model Based Systems Engineering, Systems Design, and Systems Engineering, deeply involved in one of the most advanced weapon system development programmes in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysing requirements and functional interface definitions to generate detailed functional design documentation
  • Conducting system design trade studies and proposing design changes with detailed impact assessments
  • Liaising with multi-disciplinary design teams and external stakeholders to ensure an accurate and coherent understanding of the system design
  • Understanding and managing change processes and points of embodiment management
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of management plans
  • Developing excellent working relationships with partners, key stakeholders, team members, and other departments
  • Demonstrating passion and persistence to accomplish tasks with excellence

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering, Systems Design, and Systems Engineering
  • Ability to analyse complex requirements and generate cohesive design documentation
  • Proficiency in conducting and assessing system design trade studies
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with change management processes and documentation
  • Proven ability to foster strong working relationships across various levels of an organization
  • A dynamic and flexible approach, with a motive to contribute to the success of pioneering defence projects
  • British citizenship or dual UK nationality with British citizenship
