Our client, a distinguished entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Technical Assistant with an electrical or mechanical bias to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate seamlessly with engineering and project teams to deliver outstanding results.
  • Serve as a key liaison between engineers and other departments to drive progress on tasks and actions.
  • Engage in various engineering tasks under the guidance of senior engineers, such as:
  • Writing Method Statements
  • Writing Test Specifications
  • Implementing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Change Management
  • Updating Drawings
  • Occasional Site Work
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, contributing insights to the business.
  • Maintain organised documentation, adhering to local operating procedures.

    Job Requirements:


    Essential:
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or completion of an engineering apprenticeship (electrical or mechanical).
  • Strong communication skills to liaise confidently across business functions.
  • Team player mentality in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Flexible and adaptable engineering approach to problem-solving.
  • Accurate, diligent, and methodical approach to work.
  • Ability to plan and organise work following higher-level direction.
  • Effective communication skills at all business levels, including with suppliers and customers.
  • Desire to learn and support the business while advancing personal development.
    Desirable:
  • Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles to foster innovation.
  • Experience in supporting the design, assembly, test, and delivery of complex Defence systems.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as SolidWorks (mechanical) or electrical design software.
  • Ambition to advance into a specialist or supervisory role.
