High Speed Digital and Hardware Design Lead

Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a High-Speed Digital and Hardware Electronics Design Lead working with state-of-the-art MPSoC FPGAs and AI acceleration hardware?
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to establish themselves as a technical lead and recognised expert in advanced digital electronics design.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for an individual who wants to consolidate their expertise in complex, high-speed digital design while taking on technical leadership responsibility.

As part of a large, multidisciplinary team of analogue and digital electronics engineers, you'll play a key role in the design and development of high-performance MPSoC FPGA and AI hardware for cutting-edge applications such as software-defined radio (SDR), radar signal processing, and sensor fusion.

Working closely with systems, software, firmware, mechanical, and production teams, you'll help define and deliver elegant, optimised, and reliable hardware solutions that meet demanding customer and performance requirements.

As the Hardware Lead, you'll:

  • Support the Technical Lead/Architect in defining system and design specifications.

  • Take ownership of the high-speed digital elements of the design.

  • Lead wider electronic design activities through the full product development lifecycle.

  • Ensure high-quality documentation and configuration control throughout.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid experience in complex, high-speed digital electronics design.

  • Strong knowledge of MPSoC FPGA, DDR and Flash memory, and high-speed serial interconnect design.

  • Experience with Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis.

  • Proficiency in VHDL for board-level testing and debugging.

  • Working knowledge of C, C++ or Python for board-level test and debug support.

  • Familiarity with DSP concepts used in SDR, radar signal processing, or optical sensors.

  • Ability to develop robust, efficient hardware architectures through close collaboration with other disciplines.

  • Strong academic background and analytical mindset to support technically demanding design challenges.

  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.

What We Offer

  • A clear career development pathway towards Technical Lead, Specialist, or Expert roles.

  • Opportunities for flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • Access to excellent facilities and professional development programmes.

  • A supportive environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and long-term growth.
