Senior Power Electronics Technical Lead

Are you passionate about electronic engineering and ready to take on a leadership role in designing cutting-edge power electronics systems?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to step into a Senior Power Electronics Technical Lead position - leading a talented team in the design, development, and integration of advanced electronic equipment for complex, high-performance systems.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Power Electronics Technical Lead, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative electronic solutions that ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of high-integrity systems.

You'll be responsible for leading a team of engineers involved in the design, prototyping, testing, and integration of electronic hardware used in launch management systems, data links, communications systems, and embedded computing for command and control applications.

Working across all stages of the project lifecycle, you'll drive the delivery of robust, well-engineered solutions - from early feasibility studies and technology assessments through to system certification and production handover.

You'll also shape the technical direction of the team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and mentor a team of power electronics engineers across design, development, and testing activities.

  • Design and deliver electronic subsystems, ensuring compliance with EMC and environmental requirements.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across systems, software, and mechanical disciplines.

  • Manage project deliverables, ensuring designs meet safety, reliability, and performance goals.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement, driving innovation and best practice in power electronics design.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience in power electronics design, development, and delivery.

  • Strong background in electronic subsystem design, with an understanding of EMC and environmental considerations.

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.

  • Previous experience in leading or mentoring engineers, providing direction and technical guidance.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and planning skills.

  • A passion for innovation and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and flexible working environment, with hybrid and compressed hours options.

  • Excellent training and career development opportunities, including technical and leadership pathways.

  • Access to industry-leading facilities, including subsidised meals, free parking, and on-site amenities.

  • A range of benefits, including enhanced parental leave, flexible leave options, and a competitive pension contribution scheme.
