Antenna Design Engineer

Are you an innovative engineer with a passion for cutting-edge RF and antenna technologies?
This is an exciting opportunity for an Antenna Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking team developing next-generation antenna systems for high-performance sensing and communications applications.

You'll work on challenging projects that combine advanced electromagnetic design, simulation, prototyping, and testing - helping shape the future of complex electronic systems.

The Opportunity

As part of a dedicated seeker and datalink systems team, you'll contribute to the design and development of novel antennas used in state-of-the-art multi-mode sensor systems.
Your work will involve everything from concept and modelling to prototype build, test, and transition into production, providing a rare opportunity to influence every stage of the product lifecycle.

You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams - including RF, systems, EO/IR and sensor specialists - while liaising with suppliers and presenting results to project stakeholders.
This is an ideal environment for engineers who thrive on technical challenge, innovation, and continuous learning.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing novel antenna systems for advanced sensors, exploiting the latest developments in additive layer manufacturing.

  • Developing solutions that meet demanding performance requirements in space-limited and harsh environments.

  • Conducting electromagnetic modelling using tools such as Ansys HFSS or CST Studio.

  • Performing complex antenna simulations, data analysis, and post-processing in MATLAB.

  • Supporting anechoic chamber testing and managing the transition of development hardware into pre-production.

  • Working cross-functionally with other engineering teams to deliver high-quality, integrated solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in antenna design and development.

  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g. Ansys HFSS, CST Studio).

  • Knowledge of microwave frequencies, ideally UHF and frequencies beyond X-band.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB for simulation data analysis.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.

What We Offer

  • Opportunities for flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • Excellent training and career development, supporting technical and leadership growth.

  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities, including on-site laboratories, test ranges, and simulation suites.

  • A comprehensive benefits package, including enhanced leave, flexible working hours, and generous pension contributions.
