Our client, a major player in the aerospace industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design for Manufacture (DFM) Engineer to support their expanding team.

With a strong focus on scaling production and reducing manufacturing costs, this role plays a critical part in ensuring new designs transition smoothly into production, while driving improvements in manufacturability, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work at the intersection of design and manufacturing, acting as the key link that ensures engineering solutions are both technically sound and production-ready.

Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring a smooth transition of new designs to production by creating comprehensive manufacturing packs and documentation
* Acting as the primary interface between design teams and internal/external manufacturing partners
* Leading cost-reduction initiatives through design improvements, manufacturing method optimisation, and refined assembly processes
* Identifying best-fit manufacturing methods that support long-term business needs
* Influencing next-generation platform designs at the concept stage to ensure manufacturability from the outset
* Developing maintenance procedures where required

What You'll Bring

You're an experienced engineer with hands-on manufacturing expertise and a strong understanding of how to optimise designs for efficient production.

Skills & experience:
* Background in hardware and manufacturing within the aerospace sector
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and DFM principles
* Proficient in creating and managing manufacturing documentation and data packs
* Proven experience leading cost-reduction initiatives and improving production efficiency
* Excellent communication skills, able to work confidently with both design and manufacturing teams
* Strong problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail

Qualifications:
* Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
