Job Description: Corporate Communications Associate Manager

We are seeking an action-oriented, strategic communications professional to drive impactful media coverage in support of our organization's business priorities. This role will play a key part in shaping and amplifying the company's messaging and positioning across key topics, thought leadership campaigns, and subject matter experts.

The Corporate Communications Associate Manager will be a vital member of the UK and Ireland media relations team, supporting media activity across industries, business functions, and strategic initiatives.

This position is a one-year maternity cover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the key issues and trends impacting our business, with a focus on sectors such as Financial Services, Retail, and Consumer Goods.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to generate tier-one and trade media coverage aligned to the company's strategic priorities.

  • Craft clear, concise messaging for complex topics, producing a range of communications materials including press releases, Q&As, talking points, media pitches, and bylined articles.

  • Manage and mentor a Media Relations Specialist, fostering their professional growth and success within the organization.

  • Demonstrate creativity and initiative in achieving strong media results.

  • Collaborate effectively within a matrixed environment, promoting teamwork and alignment across business and marketing functions.

  • Advise senior business leaders on media relations strategies and messaging.

  • Localize and adapt global thought leadership content for UK and Ireland media audiences.

  • Partner across teams to plan and execute communications campaigns and programmes.


Travel Expectations

  • Limited travel required.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) preferred.

  • 6-8 years' experience in PR or corporate communications, either agency or in-house, ideally within marketing, technology, or professional services sectors.

  • Proven experience in building strong relationships and providing strategic counsel to senior leadership.

  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with media measurement tools, tactics, and reporting.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proven expertise in drafting high-quality media materials such as news releases, Q&As, media pitches, op-eds, and articles.

  • In-depth understanding of the UK media landscape, with a strong record of securing coverage-particularly in financial services.

  • Proficiency in social media engagement and content development.

  • Experience supporting major industry events and media engagements.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including media, partners, vendors, and third-party organisations.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of corporate communications in a large organization.

  • Excellent project management and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Passion for producing high-quality, strategic deliverables that support business objectives and meet or exceed leadership expectations.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams and levels within a large, matrixed environment.

  • Strong team orientation with the ability to work independently while remaining connected to broader marketing and communications colleagues.
