Our client, operating within the nuclear sector, is currently seeking an AutoCAD Engineer for a contract position. This role focuses on supporting project managers and ensuring that outsourced designs meet stringent requirements and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions
- Peer review of sub-contractor produced drawings and documentation against project specification requirements
- Raise and manage Technical Queries through to completion
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and suppliers, including the identification, assessment, and integration of new sub-contractors
- Witness factory acceptance tests and sign off projects
- Support the scheduling and tasking information to Lead Engineers and Project Managers to facilitate project delivery
- Work with a multidisciplinary team across different departments
- Create supporting and construction drawings using various software packages
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD Plant 3D, NAVIS Works, Point Cloud data, Clash detection, and Model Integration
- A minimum of a Degree, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Holds CSCS Card
- Preferable experience from highly regulated industries
- Eligibility to obtain SC clearance as a minimum
- Understanding of all phases of a project life cycle
- Strong organisational capabilities
- Pragmatic and efficient approach to engineering challenges
- Awareness of PLCs and principles of electrical safety, such as the 18th Edition and BS EN 13849
- Ability to interpret detailed technical specifications and standards
- Technical writing skills
- Preferred experience within an ISO 9001 environment
- Good reporting and communication skills to inform the Engineering Leadership Team
